Fountain Valley is a city
that has no beach within its borders but is located next door to
Huntington Beach, thus enjoying a similar lifestyle to its
neighbors. Soft industries such as Fountain Valley Regional
Hospital and Kingston Technologies, Inc., plus a focus on
education and sports make this a highly desirable place to live
and raise a family. Award winning schools where gifted and special
needs youth both excel, plus sports programs and a world class
health club, Los Caballeros, make Fountain Valley a popular and
much visited spot. For those visiting the beaches, you may pass
through Fountain Valley without even knowing. We recommend you
enjoy its many offerings of popular chain restaurants, value
shopping at TJ Maxx, Costco, Sam's Club and Pottery Plus, to name
a few and sports venues with golf, miniature golf and Mile Square
Park.

Heritage Park behind the
Civic Center Complex near Slater and Brookhurst Streets is a
collection of historic buildings placed in a lush setting for
special events and social functions. In a city where grade
schools take on the names of community founders, historic
buildings and landmarks scattered throughout town bring an
awareness that not all is lost or forgotten to time. Fountain
Valley Historical Society is compiling a list of historic sites
which will be posted as soon as it is available. Fountain Valley
is a sports Mecca, as well. Bullwinkle's features miniature golf,
batting cages, bumper boats and a carnival ride.

There's also
Fountain Valley Bowl and Mile Square Park with golf, basketball
courts and walking trails. Mile Square Golf Course is an 18 hole,
6,643 yards - par 72 course at 10401 Warner Ave., (714) 545-3726
Right next to Mile Square is David L. Baker Memorial Golf Center
at 10410 Edinger Ave. It is an 18 hole, 3,894 yards - par 62
course. (714) 418-2152 or 531-5885.
Los Caballeros Swim and
Racquet Club is a private club with an outdoor Olympic pool and a
training pool surrounded by condos overlooking the water, tennis
and racquetball, exercise and fitness rooms, several restaurants
and meeting room facilities. International athletes are often
hosted at the sports club and some of the nation's top triathletes
live locally and train there. When

Summer Olympics were held in
Los Angeles in 1984, several Olympic swim teams practiced at "Los
Cab." It is across the street from the Fountain Valley Post Office
on Newhope between Slater and Warner Streets.
